6724 Alexander Bell Drive Lobby

The + was partnering  with the design team during the initial project phase to assist in fabrication and engineering details to allow the design intent to seamlessly translate from paper to reality.

This project included a complete renovation of the existing main building lobby as well as the public restrooms.

Extensive use of exotic materials in complex patterns help to draw attention to a feature wall consisting of back-lit geometric seamless panels. The lobby also included a custom aluminum panel ceiling system which gives the building a signature look in the COPT portfolio. All work was accomplished without shutting down the lobby to tenants or visitors. Public restrooms were completely renovated using custom tile and integrally lit mirrors to achieve a modern look.

Jacobs at National Business Park

The + is efficiently coordinating all of the remote partners, landlord and vendors to maintain an organized workflow and avoid problems and delays. This project consisted of a 3500 sq. ft. complete, satellite office fit-out for one of the world’s largest engineering firms. Used primarily as a touchdown location for local projects, this space included a split conference room, huddle rooms and individual work stations. KasCon was able to connect and partner with all the required participants from various remote locations to maintain an organized workflow and avoid delays. Finishes included modular glass walls and doors, audio/visual integration and automated acoustical folding partition installation.

The Goddard School – Columbia

The + was ensuring The Goddard School corporate standards were met while simultaneously allowing the owner to incorporate her own design. This school project fully renovated 12,000 square feet of a single-story flex space. The interior renovation included 11 classrooms, 10 sets of restrooms, an office/staff area and kitchen. KasCon also converted an existing rear loading dock/parking lot into a playground complete with synthetic playground pour-in-place matting, new grass, a precast concrete ramp for handicap accessibility and fencing. As part of The Goddard School corporate guidelines, we also installed a galvanized guiderail along the rear and side of the building for motor vehicle protection. The biggest challenge of this project was finding high moisture content in the existing concrete floor which required the entire floor to be shot blasted and sealed prior to flooring installation. Despite this delay, KasCon was able to deliver the project before deadline.

Sassanova

The + is partnering with the client and designer to reflect the “new look” of the Sassanova brand.

This women’s fashion boutique worked with KasCon and  Spry-Design to totally gut and renovate the existing Harbor East Sassanova store in Baltimore City while, in the very same timeframe, build-out a new shop at Greenspring Station in Baltimore County.  Both projects were completed within five weeks of their respective start date and each was delivered on time and, under budget!

Work included extensive, high-end lighting, custom drywall built-in niches complete with applied metallic paints and laser cut decorative wall panels.  Both fast-tracked retail projects met the high degree of quality expected by the client and project designer. The projects proved to be a wonderful complement to the crisp and clean fashion statement of the “new look” Sassanova brand.

Hope Christian Church

The + is being able to turn a warehouse with structural columns into a worship center with good sight lines and an open feel. This project involved the conversion of former warehouse and office space into a state-of-the-art worship center. Hope Christian Church took possession of an 80,000 sq. ft. building in Beltsville, MD and soon realized that they needed a larger sanctuary. KasCon, in conjunction with Waldon Studio Architects, put together a team to create a new 10,000 sq. ft. Sanctuary and 4,000 sq. ft. Ministry Boulevard. The project required the removal of three structural columns to allow for better sight lines and a more open feel. The project also incorporated a new A/V and TV broadcast center for the church to produce programs for worldwide distribution.

The Assembly Room

KasCon converted the 12,000 square foot, two level, former Hammerjack’s nightclub , bar and live music establishment into on of the most unique wedding and meeting venues in downtown Baltimore. While retaining many of the “edgy” features of the past – original murals painted over brick, wrought iron railings surrounding the 2nd story floor openings and real wooden bar tops – KasCon was able to bring some of the late 1970’s atmosphere back to the present.
