Casey Health Institute

This integrated primary care practice and wellness center includes over 20,000 square feet of custom constructed interior space. The work area was demolished, constructed and fully operational within 15 weeks of mobilization. The facility boasts reception areas, laboratory, patient rooms, massage and acupuncture rooms, yoga studios and administrative offices. High-end natural finishes are used throughout to present a comfortable modern environment. The large scale “Rope Walls”, a unique feature of the yoga studios, required quality craftsmanship and structural integrity. KasCon provided a design build value engineering of full building HVAC Systems to bring the project into budget. The building’s mechanical systems and lighting were entirely replaced for comfort and energy efficiency.

This outpatient surgery facility was constructed for national surgery center operator, Amsurg. The location selected was a large retail storefront in a strip center. The building required completely new electric, HVAC and fire alarm systems to satisfy current codes and demands of the user. The standard surgery center elements of medical gases, sterilization equipment, custom casework, nurse call/paging systems and back-up generator were all incorporated into the project. KasCon worked as a true partner with the national representative and coordinated with local doctors to make this a seamless project.

The Shafer Center

This school for children with autism and other developmental delays was constructed within a single story warehouse building. Work included selective interior demolition, complete interior construction, and mechanical systems. Classrooms and corridors are decorated with bold accent colors found in paint, plastic laminate, and floor tiles.

Northrop Grumman

This complete interior fit out from shell condition of a building included office, computer lab, conference and training facilities. 24/7 stand-alone, computer-grade HVAC systems were installed to comply with the client’s government contract requirements. The space was constructed in a fully occupied Class A office building with minimal disruption to tenants.

Business Suites

We’ve renovated multiple locations for Business Suites. Projects included renovations of conference rooms and reception areas as well as café and restroom upgrades. We also converted a shell retail space into a 55-office executive suite facility, including completely new mechanical and electrical systems and gang restrooms.

Lupin Pharmaceuticals

This expansion of the U.S. headquarters of international manufacturer Lupin Pharmaceuticals included a full floor of additional corporate space and a selective renovation of an existing occupied floor. The project challenges included matching custom veneers and other features in the space to assure that the expansion and renovation were seamless. Custom millwork, marble and extensive use of architectural glass were all key features of the design. In addition to the office area improvements public rest rooms were renovated in a staged manner to minimize inconvenience to the tenant.

Office building construction with glass entry, high-end Northern Virginia office complex


This high impact office for a nationally-recognized sports marketing group was constructed on a full floor of Gannett/USA Today’s Northern Virginia office complex. The project involved marrying some existing high quality elements, polished granite floors and existing architecture with new construction more suited to Octagon’s function and taste. Glass wall systems (Dirtt), salvaged wood products, back-painted glass and other elements were used to make a strong impression. In addition to the extensive architectural construction, modifications were made to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to accommodate the new lay out.
