Fresh Creative Cuisine
The + was the total dedication of KasCon’s Project Superintendent to understand the drawings and specifications; and, to navigate the constant changes of the project while managing 24 different subcontractors.
KasCon transformed this 80,000+ square foot beer distribution facility located in East Baltimore – a project that KasCon originally completed in 2021 – into a food processing and distribution center for Fresh Creative Cuisine. The project required removing approximately 60,000 square feet of existing concrete flooring to install stainless steel drainage systems before pouring new concrete with exact sloping specifications ensuring proper drainage throughout the facility. The vast majority of the building received either new epoxy flooring meeting USDA regulations or polished concrete finishes.
The renovation included multiple temperature-controlled rooms with precise temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees, to plus 10 degrees, 20 degrees and 40 degrees, respectively. A second-story mezzanine was constructed alongside the 25,000 square foot Packing & Food Holding area to accommodate Locker Rooms, Ware Wash, Garb, and Laundry facilities. A commercial kitchen was installed supported by expansive food processing areas designed for full-scale operations.
Over 50,000 square feet of Kingspan suspended ceiling was installed 20 feet above floor level. The ceiling tile and grid system was engineered with sufficient structural density to support workers standing on the panels beneath the roof deck during sprinkler piping installation.
